This award-winning show car is a 1937 Ford Cabriolet w/Rumble Seat that was constructed over five years and involved approximately 6,000 hours of build time. No details were overlooked, and no expense was spared. It has always been stored in a heated garage and is show ready!
Street Rod specialist Dowes Manufacturing fabricated the chassis and fibreglass body on this ’37 Ford in Lawton, Michigan. The perimeter chassis incorporates full box rails to accommodate Corvette C4 front & rear suspension. The entire chassis is painted the same blue as the body, clear coated, and polished to the same standard as the body. It also has custom-fabricated front & rear swaybars.
The 12-inch Corvette polished brakes have SSB grooved rotors, lines for brakes, gas, AC, heater hoses, and gas tank lines are all stainless steel. The aluminum powertrain and suspension have also been completely hand polished to yield a chrome-like appearance.
Power comes from a Magnuson Supercharged Camaro LS1 engine with modified cylinder heads, an American Highway 22 engine management system, a custom-built air intake system, custom pulley brackets and serpentine belt system. The car was Dyno’d at 395hp & 415 ft-lbs of torque to the rear wheels!
Suppose that doesn’t make your heart pound. In that case, it gets better…power gets transmitted through a driver-engaging Borg Warner T56 Six-Speed Manual Transmission and a Posi-Trac Corvette differential with a 3:73 axle ratio!!
The interior features include Infiniti eight-way power heated seats, an aluminum tilt/telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, VDO instrumentation, Vintage A/C, heat and defrost. A Dakota Digital 10-channel remote control system operates the electric power doors, hood, and rumble seat! The sound system has a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/DVD entertainment system with an Alpine amp and 8 Pioneer Speakers.
The entire interior, including the rumble seat, is trimmed with champagne leather and matching carpets and floor mats. The convertible top also contains a heated Corvette rear window for enhanced visibility. The supports for the convertible top are chrome plated with rear bow-enhanced wood trim. Safety features include daytime driving lights, backup lights, outside rearview mirrors with signal indicators, specialty windshield washers & wipers, three-point seat belts in the front and lap belts in the rumble seat.
